HOW TO USE ACEMEF

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. ACEMEF is to be taken with food.
This will help to avoid stomach upset.

HOW ACEMEF WORKS

ACEMEF is a combination of two medicines: Drotaverine and Aceclofenac, which relieves abdominal pain and cramps. Drotaverine is an anti-spasmodic medicine which relieves contractions (spasms) associated with smooth muscles in the abdomen. Aceclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers that cause abdominal pain and inflammation (swelling).

ACEMEF RELATED WARNINGS

  • Alcohol : It is unsafe to consume alcohol with ACEMEF Taking aceclofenac with alcohol may increase risk of stomach bleeding.
  • Pregnancy :

    1. ACEMEF may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.

    2. Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the fetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.

  • Lactation :No information is available on the use of ACEMEF during lactation. Please consult your doctor.
  • Driving :

    1. Do not drive unless you are feeling well.

    2. As ACEMEF may cause vertigo.

  • Kidney : 1. ACEMEF should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of ACEMEF may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
    Use of ACEMEF is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
  • Liver : 1. ACEMEF should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of ACEMEF may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
    Use of ACEMEF is not recommended in patients with severe liver disease. Regular monitoring of liver function tests is advisable while the patient is taking this medicine.
